Fela!
The Fela Kuti story comes to Broadway.
I had never been to a theatre show on NY’s Broadway, nor in London for that matter. Partly because shows like the Lion King & Chicago have never really appealed to me. So its good to see a relevant, well made and quite frankly revolutionary show come to Broadway. With Antibalas acting as the resident band, the story of Fela is soundtracked live from beginning to end. The quality of Actors, Dancers & Set is top notch & the tale fortunately manages to escape any Western Romanticism. All in All, well worth going to & supporting, as this kind of thing doesn’t often make this far! Check the website here
