Combo Barbaro Live in New York
A balmy day on Governors Island with Turntables on the Hudson.
It was a long, hot day with a dash of rain showers, but with the spirit of the New York Summer we know and love. After a short ferry ride out from Manhattan we were greeted by the rich scent of this magical island & knew it was going to be a lovely event. Miles Cleret made a surprise appearance playing records alongside Nickodemus, Beto, Paulo from Superfly Records & Sofrito’s Frankie Francis. It was a musically enriched journey meandering through Angolan Merengue & Puerto Rican Plena and onto unheard of Afrobeat & Latin Soul. The Combo Barbaro took the stage shortly after sunset & were joined by a warm audience who were there to enjoy this unique location & spirit. Thanks to all who came out!
