Combo Barbaro in Paris
Photos from the Paris show & a big thanks to everyone who came out to see the band at all the shows on their recent tour!
It was the final weekend in the Combo Barbaro Tour, so what better City to pull into than Paris. Due to some logistical wranglings, we had been awarded a larger, longer & taller tour bus for the final week of the tour & it was proving to be the centre of attention, wherever we went. Over the previous 5 weeks I’d seen the band slowly take shape before my eyes, from our debut show at the Big Chill in the UK, through the States & finally in Europe. There’s something about traveling together as musicians that is wonderful, you have the chance to share your musical experiences & ideas with one another & in a band with such a broad age range, it makes it all the more interesting. There have been many highlights from the Tour, New York, Bristol, London, Belgium…. it seemed that no matter where we went, the Audience was warm and receptive, apart from the drizzly conditions endured in Ireland, where the spectators’ waterproof clothing prevented it!
What started as a band at the beginning soon became a showband comprising of music from the Pacific & Atlantic coasts of Colombia sung by Nidia Gongora, Peruvian Salsa Dura from Pianist Alfredo ‘Maestro’ Linares, Panama Soul Combo Music sung by Kabir Malik & Instrumental pieces stirring all kinds of emotions & dance moves from the band’s multinational rhythm section.
