Andres Landero
For the uninitiated, Andres Landero is somewhat of a legend. His music & the weight it carries has influenced musicians the world over.
From humble beginnings in San Jacinto, Colombia, his minor key cumbias on Accordion, accompanied by Lyrical folklore have become favourites in the hands of record collectors & on dancefloors, most notably song La Pava Congona . His music was a personal favourite of Joe Strummer & has been virtually adopted by Mexicans in Cumbia-centric Monterrey. Not all of Landero’s music is available online but Amazon & Itunes both stock some of the Discos Fuentes re-editions. Highly recommended!
